Hello! My name is Marybeth Owens. Born and raised in NEPA, I graduated from Marywood University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After choosing to continue my education, I returned to Marywood to earn a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2020.

My counseling approach is mainly solution-focused mixed with person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Using these theories, I work with everything from depressive and anxiety disorders to couples counseling, grief therapy to family therapy. My passion lies in couples counseling, and I am currently working towards my Gottman Certification. I enjoy working with clients to build a therapeutic relationship that allows them to process and understand problem areas, set and accomplish goals, and learn healthy coping skills. I believe counseling works best by providing a comfortable space where clients can feel safe to explore, confront, and improve themselves freely.
