CB Counseling, LLC is pleased to contract with Jessica Failing, LCSW.
My name is Jessica Failing and I am a licensed clinical social worker. In 2008, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Scranton with a focus on journalism and creative writing, and later attended Marywood University to continue my education in social work. I earned a Master of Social Work degree in 2014, with a specialization in behavioral health, and shortly after I earned my clinical license. While pursuing my social work degree, I was honored to be inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society for social workers.
Although I use an integrated approach to therapy to fit each person’s unique personality and needs, I always use a person-centered, strengths-based approach first and foremost. I work collaboratively to help identify goals and the best ways to reach these goals. I draw a lot upon Systems Theory, Social Learning Theory, Attachment Theory, Motivational Theory, and Psychodynamic Theory. My goal is to provide a safe space, foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship, encourage accountability and action, and support the work being done.
I have nearly 15 years of experience working with families, children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, such as schools, homes, treatment facilities, hospitals, medical centers, correctional institutions, and community mental health agencies. I have volunteered at Camp Koala, a day camp dedicated to working with grieving children who have experienced the death of a loved one. I have experience with treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, interpersonal and family issues, personality disorders, codependency and Adult Children of Alcoholics.
I am a member of The National Association of Social Workers, a member of NAMI Northeast, and a member of The Junior League of Scranton.
