CB Counseling is pleased to contract with Erin Sandlin, LSW, MA, MSW at our practice.
I have 16 years of work experience in mental health with all ages and populations. I have assisted adults in drug and alcohol treatment, incarcerated settings, and outpatient mental health. Regarding children and adolescents, I have provided services in home settings, school-based settings, and residential treatment. I also have 8 years of experience in crisis response to assess for safety, mobile crisis for stability and safety planning, and outpatient assessments. In addition, I volunteer with a local CISM team supporting first responders. I provide mental health counseling and support to people with an array of diagnoses and concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, intrusive thoughts, autism, ADHD, bipolar, personality disorders, OCD, psychosis, grief, and trauma.
My educational background began at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas (2007) where I received a B.A. in Psychology. I then went to John Jay CUNY (2010) where I received an M.A. in Forensic Mental Health Counseling. Later, I received my MSW from Tulane University School of Social Work (2022). I am currently pursuing my Pennsylvania licensure in social work.
My therapeutic approach is individualized and strengths-based. You are the expert of your life; I want to give you the safety and support to process while helping you to achieve your goals. I find the therapeutic relationship is key to making the hard stuff easier to sit with and process. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as attachment theory, mindfulness, solution-focus, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
